When a lawn's beyond feeding and seeding — more moss and bare earth than grass — a fresh lay of turf is the fastest way to a garden you're proud of. But turf is only as good as the ground under it, so the prep is where we spend the time: we lift the old lawn, clear the roots and debris, level and rake the soil to a fine, firm tilth, and add topsoil where it's needed.
Then we lay quality turf tight, staggered and rolled, with the joints butted close so there are no gaps or ridges. Cut cleanly around borders, paths and beds, it looks established from day one. We'll also turf new borders, awkward slopes and shady spots where seed would struggle.
